I had the privilege of going to an "African Stomp" two days ago. I listened to a missionary who God has called to Northern Uganda. This lady is well seasoned, well traveled (meaning she has been through the swamp and back), and has totally given her heart and life to this people group. I've finally met someone who literally has strapped her coffin on her back and went where God asked her to go. She will be moving to that country and I do not believe she will return.

Then I was reading about Far Reaching Ministries who has sent her to that country. They are starting an intensive 12 month course for missionaries. It reads - "If you have a passion for the remote, dangerous, and difficult areas of the world this program is for you. ... This program will ruin you for the things of this world and mold you into a warrior for Jesus Christ."

What an awesome statement! As I was out praying at the river and pondering this program God began talking with me. You know it is not always pleasant when God talks with you!

He began talking about the heart, fervor, passion and zeal He has given this woman, how she is operating in her realm of authority, that what she speaks and does in that realm He performs because she is operating in the Grace given to her.
I don't know about you, but these things stir me to want to go - to go to the grass on the other side of the hill, to travel to distant places and do "God's work", but here's the pickle. What if God hasn't called you to go to Uganda? What if you went because you're full of emotional zeal and wanting to reach people and save them and see them turned to serving God? Good intentions, right? You will fall flat on your face and fail if God hasn't called you to that realm!

Now the real twist! What is YOUR realm of authority? Where has God called you to minister and reach people? Do you know? I don't mean where your emotions and mind say you should be - I mean where God has literally asked you to serve! So many of us do not have the foggiest idea what God wants from us, let alone where He wants us planted. Why? We never take the time to develop a relationship with Him. We never take the time to listen to Him. So we don't hear Him when He speaks. It may be through His word, through another individual, through His audible voice, through dreams and visions. He is speaking, but we're just too busy to listen.

I challenge you to establish a prayer life, to spend time with God, to contend and fight with Him until you KNOW what He desires you to do.

We like to think that Uganda is a "difficult" place to minister and therefore we need to go to Uganda to be effectually used by God. Wrong! What about your backyard? Has God called you to give your LIFE in the area where you live? Do you contend and fight for the soul of your neighbor?

God placed me in my realm of authority 7 years ago, an area that I grew up in and HATED! I mean there is no way I cared to minister in this town and surrounding area. Well, since then He has given me a passionate love for this realm. I will live and die here until He sends me someplace else (Acts 17:26,27). He has given me a love for this people, to see them turn to the Lord, to see this town become the gateway to Heaven it is called to be, to see the various ministries stop fighting among themselves and begin flowing together into a mighty river that can accomplish what God called it to do.

We don't have to travel far to be in the "remote, dangerous, and difficult areas of the world" to minister. All we have to do is be in the realm of authority that God called us to be in. We will find everything right there!

We must seek God's face and heart, begin separating ourselves from the world and cleaning up our acts. How do we "do" that? You don't! You contend with God and press into Him to know His Glory - He does the "doing", the changing of your heart and the bending of your will.

We must begin changing our mindsets and stop conforming to the doctrines of this world. We must break away from supporting and undergirding every wind and doctrine that comes along. I believe this web ministry is making a serious mistake in their policy of supporting anything and everything that comes along. You either serve God or you don't. You can't serve God and the world at the same time. You either become a sheep or a goat. When we support and acknowledge doctrines and teachings that go against God's word we start becoming a goat. Pray about this for winds of change are coming and avenues and doors will eithe open or close!

The bottom line - press God to know where your realm of authority is. Move into it and give your EVERYTHING to see it turned to the Lord. I pray each of us will move in what God is calling us to do.

Amen!
