I've been pondering Psalms 23, in particular verse 1.

Psalms 23:1(NKJV) - THE LORD is my shepherd; I shall not want.

I have been following the recent events happening in California with the overturning of prop. 8. I see two erroneous errors we are making: 1. We think God is democratic and we can choose how we want to live without consequences, that He will listen to our foolishness and arrogance; and 2. that we can live how we want and do what we want and ignore God's guidelines and not suffer the consequences of our actions.

I was down at the river today, playing guitar, praying and waiting on the Lord. As I was sitting there God had me watching the fisher birds, you know, those birds that fly along the water, see a fish, dive into the water and catch the fish and then fly back in the air again. Look at II Kings 22:8-13

King Josiah (22:1ff) was 8 years old when he began to reign in Jerusalem. This king did what was right in the eyes of the Lord. He walked in the ways of his father, King David. At the age of 26 the book of the Law was found. This means Judah had lost the word of the Lord, the book of Laws

Keep in mind this was the CHURCH! They had lost understanding of God's Word. They did not have His guidelines and precepts to guide their paths!

I have been hearing a lot of talk lately on same sex marriages (both homosexuals and lesbians), increased adultery and fornication. We are getting more and more laws passed making it a hate crime to speak against these situations. The Lord keeps bringing me back to Habakkuk chapter 1. If you remember the book - Habakkuk cries out to the Lord regarding the state of Israel, all of the violence and wickedness. I had the privilege of going to an "African Stomp" two days ago. I listened to a missionary who God has called to Northern Uganda. This lady is well seasoned, well traveled (meaning she has been through the swamp and back), and has totally given her heart and life to this people group.
