Here is the problem I have with what we are doing as a nation, with what President Obama is doing as our President, and with what we are doing as God's Church and voice.


We try to right the wrongs in the world (i.e., Afganistan and all the other war-torn areas in the world), we try to fix the problems in our nation (taxes, jobs, sexual sins), we cry and talk about the problem. Look at II Kings 22:8-13

King Josiah (22:1ff) was 8 years old when he began to reign in Jerusalem. This king did what was right in the eyes of the Lord. He walked in the ways of his father, King David. At the age of 26 the book of the Law was found. This means Judah had lost the word of the Lord, the book of Laws

Keep in mind this was the CHURCH! They had lost understanding of God's Word. They did not have His guidelines and precepts to guide their paths!

I have been hearing a lot of talk lately on same sex marriages (both homosexuals and lesbians), increased adultery and fornication. We are getting more and more laws passed making it a hate crime to speak against these situations. We are having more and more people, both Christians and non-Christians, speaking in favor of just letting people do what they want to do. We have chosen to believe we can do anything we want and there is no penalty for our actions.

Jesus told us in Luke 24:49 to wait until we were clothed with power from on high before beginning to minister (Luke 24:49 (Net), "And look, I am sending you what my Father promised. But stay in the city until you have been clothed with power from on high") . He said this to His disciples just before ascending to His Father. Sometimes I think we feel this scripture only applied to the disciples in the first century church, but it is a model that applies to all of us NOW!

I posted a word on Oct 8, 2009, titled "Reflections". This word dealt with the reflection or image before our eyes, and how we were looking at the wrong image.

I was waiting before the Lord yesterday and God began speaking,

"Who are you? Not the office or position you hold, but who are you. I submit that you have been looking at the wrong reflection, the wrong image. Change your image. Press in and see who I say you are."

The Lord keeps bringing me back to Habakkuk chapter 1. If you remember the book - Habakkuk cries out to the Lord regarding the state of Israel, all of the violence and wickedness. He can't understand why and how God can look the other way. Then God says in Habakkuk 1:5, "Look at the nations and pay attention! You will be shocked and amazed! For I will do something in your lifetime that you will not believe even though you are forewarned."
