Look at II Kings 22:8-13

King Josiah (22:1ff) was 8 years old when he began to reign in Jerusalem. This king did what was right in the eyes of the Lord. He walked in the ways of his father, King David. At the age of 26 the book of the Law was found. This means Judah had lost the word of the Lord, the book of Laws

Keep in mind this was the CHURCH! They had lost understanding of God's Word. They did not have His guidelines and precepts to guide their paths!

We as a nation, founded under God's word and laws, have lost God's Word and understanding of His word! We have apostized, backslid, kicked God out of our activities and told Him to leave.

We have forsaken reading His word (Psalm 119:105, "Your word is a lamp for my feet and a light on my path."), we no longer seek His council, we no longer seek to walk in His righteousness, we do not give preiminence to Him, we enter our prayer closets with our agendas and never give a thought to what is on God's heart. We wander like goats and donkeys, each neighing after his or her fleshly, carnal desires (read Proverbs 7). We seek council and advice and direction from anything and everything - except God.

We wonder why our economy has gone bad, why unemployment is so high, why everything appears to be going to hell in a handbasket.

Fools! We are fools! We have forsaken God. We have rejected wisdom and wise council. We have forsaken and disobeyed God's word; therefore, His anger burns against us. We have not acted in accordance with what is written concerning us!

Whoa to us! For we have transgressed God's law and we refuse to repent. Whoa to us! For we have acted as the harlot. Whoa to us! For we shall reap the whirlwind!

In II Kings 22:15 and following, King Josiah humbled himself before the Lord and sent his high priest Hilkiah to inquire of the Lord what should be done. Hilkiah went to the prophetess Huldah. She delivered the word of the Lord against Judah and what would happen to the people because of their actions. She also said that because Josiah had humbled himself that it would not occur in his lifetime.

King Josiah found the book of the Law. He sought Godly council from God's prophet. He was told the devastation that was to come. But, because he humbled himself and cried out to God, God spared Josiah from what was to come. BUT GOD DID NOT REPENT OF HIS JUDGMENT!

We have violated God's commands, ignored His commandments and statutes. We have sanctioned murder, adultery, homosexuality, everything God detests. We have bowed before foreign gods (things detestable to God). We have played the harlot to foreign nationals, seeking to adopt their standards for this nation. We have given ourselves to Islam ideals and other detestable things. We shall reap the whirlwind! Whoa to us!

This message is directed to the Church! The outcome of all this has nothing to do with non-Christians or heathens (although they shall reap the same as we do also!). They have no say-so in this. We, as Christians, have failed in what God called us to do. In Genesis 3:15 and following, we were called to tend and care for the garden (or the land) He put us in. But we have failed! We have forsaken prayer and God's word. We press in for greater offerings and tithes, we press in to have sin removed. But our focus is wrong!

God says in Matthew 23:26 to clean the inside of the cup so the outside will clean itself. We have been trying to clean the outside of the cup, ignoring the inside! We are not seeking God's presence and His face, we are not seeking to fall passionately in love with Jesus. We are not crying out for God to change our hearts and the course of the nation. We are not willing to stand in the gap and contend with God for the lives and souls of man (Ezekiel 22:30). We are not willing to give our lives that others might be saved!

We are seeking the things of Gods hand and not the One who the hand is connected to, and because of that, we shall reap the whirlwind! We shall reap judgment. The blood of this nation shall be on our heads - because we have not sought God and to be His children!

Repent Church! Repent and cry out to God. Repent, for the day of repentance is drawing to a close. We are rapidly reaching the point where we will not be able to lessen the impact of God's judgment, where we shall reap the full impact of the whirlwind as the nation of Israel did.

We must decide who we fear - God or man. If we choose to fear man then we come into direct opposition to God and will pay the price for that! If we choose to fear God then we may endure much persecution (look at I Kings 22 and the prophet Micaiah. He suffered much, but consistently delivered God's word!

Wake up Church, change your priorities, stop going after "things" and go after God. Pastors, start teaching the people how to seek God's presence, how to live in His presence. Teach people how to pursue God. Teach them how to change their priorities. Be shepherds and lead people into His presence!

Seasons are changing and what has been will be no more! Repent! Change course while we still have time! I love you and pray we make the right decision!
