I've been pondering Psalms 23, in particular verse 1.

Psalms 23:1(NKJV) - THE LORD is my shepherd; I shall not want.

Is He my shepherd? To answer that question I began looking at what a Shepherd does. A shepherd tends his sheep. He makes sure they have food to eat, and if the food runs out in one place he moves them to fresh pasture. He tends them medically, putting lotion on their skin to ward off insects and irritants, and to heal wounds. He keeps them safe; warding off varmints of every type...
