Who are You?

I posted a word on Oct 8, 2009, titled "Reflections". This word dealt with the reflection or image before our eyes, and how we were looking at the wrong image.
I was waiting before the Lord yesterday and God began speaking,
"Who are you? Not the office or position you hold, but who are you. I submit that you have been looking at the wrong reflection, the wrong image. Change your image. Press in and see who I say you are."
If we are asked who we are, we tend to answer -
"I am senior pastor"
"I am a prophet"
"I am an intercessor"
"I am a teacher"
All good answers - but those are POSITIONS we hold! They are not WHO we are. We have been looking and thinking wrong for a very long time. We are not defined by a position we hold. We are defined by what God has called us to.
For example, I am a prophet and have been for 25 years - but that is not WHO I am!
The Bible, God's Word, says that as soon as we repent and accept Jesus as our Lord and Savior, we become son's of God, joint errs with Jesus Christ. All of what flows through Jesus Christ now flows through us! He says we shall do greater things than Christ did when He walked on the Earth. But how do we get there?
We must recognize who we are and begin walking in the fullness of who we are. We must begin doing what Jesus did when He walked the Earth. He spent TIME before His Father, seeing what His Father was doing and what His Father was speaking, then doing those things in the Earth.
The pattern has not changed! If we want open heavens and seeing the Glory of God manifesting on the Earth, then we must change our schedules, rearrange our priorities. We must begin contending with and pressing into the fullness of God. We cannot spend a small amount of time before God, lay our agendas before Him, get up and leave and expect His Glory to come down and have open heavens over us. It will not happen!
Do you want open heavens?
Do you want the Glory of God coming down?
Do His manifested Presence invading your life?
Then change what you are doing! Change the image before your eyes! Change what you are looking at! Change what you consider important, and set Jesus as the preeminent thing in your life! Change!
But I don't have time - I have a job to do - I have ....
If you will set Jesus as the preeminent thing in your life, if you will begin contending with Him in prayer, if you will change what you are doing - God will meet you, change your priorities, change your heart and passions - and you will find you have time to do all He asks of you.
E.M. Bounds in his book, "The Complete Works of E.M. Bounds On Prayer", states that the man or woman that does not spend the better part of the day in prayer is not worth his/her salt. Pretty hard saying, huh? Not really - it all depends on what you consider important and what you want out of life and what you desire to do for God!
Change what you look at and who you think you are - and watch what God will do in your life!
